Mein Interesse galt schon immer der Streetfotografie, was meine Büchersammlung dokumentiert, die von Robert Frank über Fred Herzog, Ernst Haas und Saul Leiter bis zu Joel Meyerowitz, Robert Egglestone, Alex Webb und Sammlungen von und über Streetfotografen eigentlich alles umfasst, was man so finden kann.
Und inzwischen erfreut sich die Streetfotografie ja einer blühenden Renaissance, daher findet sich seit kurzem sehr viel, sehr viel Gutes und auch sehr viel Aktuelles (vielleicht stelle ich ja mal eine Literaturliste zusammen).
Auch wenn ich mich nicht gerne festlege – und es mich vor allem langweilt, mich zu wiederholen – sind meine Vorlieben doch die Fotografie in den Straßen bei Nacht, das Einfangen von Licht und Schatten, und das Einfangen von Reflexionen oder Abstraktionen, die Mehrschichtigkeiten beinhalten und zum Hinschauen verlocken. Das Spielen mit Reflexionen, aber auch Abstraktionen und Spiegelungen machen für mich das Experimentieren immer wieder spannend.
Das Einfangen von Fragmenten des Alltags in der Großstadt. Auf der Suche nach Momenten, Licht, Reflexionen und Linien.
Mein Anliegen mit meiner Fotografie ist es, Stimmungen, Atmosphäre und das, was hinter dem Offensichtlichen liegt, einzufangen und in meinen Fotos zu vermitteln. Die Blicke auf Details und in die scheinbar belanglosen Szenen sind mir wichtig. Ich möchte Bilder machen, nicht Abbilder festhalten. Bilder, die etwas erzählen, interessant zu betrachten sind… oder aber auch einfach nur schön anzuschauen.
Es geht mir um die Momente und die Stimmungen, die sich widerspiegeln … Ich möchte die Stimmungen und den Alltag in der Stadt einfangen, aber auch die Stadtarchitektur als Rahmen des alltäglichen Miteinanders in einer Großstadt. Und nicht zuletzt liebe ich das spielerische Experimentieren mit Blurr und Reflexionen, aus denen sich in Bildern Mehrdeutigkeiten ergeben.

Even though I don’t like to commit myself – and I especially get bored of repeating myself – my preferences are photography in the streets at night, capturing light and shadow, and capturing reflections or abstractions that contain multiple layers and tempt you to look. Playing with reflections, but also abstractions and reflections, always makes experimentation exciting for me.
Capturing fragments of everyday life in the big city. Looking for moments, light, reflections and lines.
My aim with my photography is to capture moods, atmosphere and what lies behind the obvious and to convey them in my photos. Looking at details and seemingly inconsequential scenes is important to me. I want to take pictures, not capture images. Pictures that tell a story, are interesting to look at… or just nice to look at.
For me it’s about the moments and the moods that are reflected… I want to capture the moods and everyday life in the city, but also the city architecture as a framework for everyday life in a big city. And last but not least, I love playfully experimenting with blur and reflections, which create ambiguities in images.
