Es gibt ja mitunter Ansagen, die in die Richtung gehen: Streetfotografie? Nur 35mm oder maximal 50mm.
Und natürlich nur eine kleine Kamera… Ich meine, Streetfotografie mit 90mm oder 75mm… warum nicht? Oder aber… mit 28mm halt nah dran… (letzteres ist übrigens inzwischen meine favorisierte Methode).
Und ich habe insgesamt festgestellt… die Leute werden aufmerksam und gucken – oder halt auch nicht. It depends… Sie nehmen dich wahr, egal was du für eine Kamera in der Hand hältst -oder sie nehmen dich halt nicht wahr. Und, wenn sie denn gucken… es kommt darauf an, wie du zurücklächelst. Mit der Kameragröße hat das nichts zu tun.
Eine andere Frage ist, wie lange man durch die Straßen laufen mag oder an Spots auf den richtigen Moment wartend ausharren mag – wenn das Gewicht der Kamera den Arm und die Schulter beansprucht. Ich denke, es gilt für jedes Projekt abzuwägen und auszuwählen, welche Kamera und welche Brennweite man mitnimmt. (Ich muss dazu sagen, dass ich nur im Ausnahmefall mal nicht nur eine Kamera und eine (Fest)Brennweite dabei habe. Was mit der nicht geht, das geht halt dann nicht. Kommt ein anderes Bild…)

There are sometimes announcements that go something like this: street photography? Only 35mm or maximum 50mm. And of course just a small camera… I mean, street photography with 90mm or 75mm… why not? Or… close to it with 28mm… (the latter is now my favorite method).
And I’ve noticed overall… people pay attention and look – or not. It depends… They notice you, no matter what kind of camera you have in your hand – or they just don’t notice you. And, if they do look… it depends on how you smile back. This has nothing to do with the camera size.
Another question is how long you want to walk through the streets or wait in spots for the right moment – when the weight of the camera strains your arm and shoulder. I think it’s important to weigh up and choose which camera and focal length to take with you for every project. (I have to say that only in exceptional cases do I not only have one camera and one (fixed) focal length with me. If it doesn’t work with that, then it just doesn’t work. A different picture comes out…)
