Kapstadt im Licht

Diese Fotoserie entstand im März 2022 in Kapstadt und der umliegenden Region.

Zwischen Ozean und Tafelberg liegt eine Stadt, die sich ständig neu inszeniert – je nach Tageszeit, Wetterlage und Blickwinkel. Kapstadt ist Bühne und Spiegel zugleich: urban und weit, rau und weich, durchzogen von klarem Licht und oft plötzlich verschluckt vom Nebel.

Meine Bilder zeigen keine Postkartenmotive, sondern Augenblicke, wie sie sich im Vorübergehen offenbarten – das Licht über der Skyline, stille Straßen im Abenddunst, die weite Linie der Küste, die sich im Meer verliert.

Kapstadt ist nicht nur geografisch ein Ort am Rand, sondern auch ein Raum voller Übergänge: von Licht zu Schatten, von Stadt zu Natur, von Moment zu Stimmung. Meine Kamera folgte keinem Plan, sondern dem Impuls des Sehens – neugierig, offen, und immer wieder einfach nur staunend.

Kapstadt ist für mich ein Sehnsuchtsort geblieben. Vielleicht irgendwann – beim zweiten Blick, beim zweiten Mal…

Between the ocean and Table Mountain lies a city that constantly reinvents itself – depending on the time of day, the weather, and the angle of view. Cape Town is both stage and mirror: urban and vast, rough and gentle, drawn in clear light and often suddenly swallowed by mist.

My images don’t show postcard motifs, but moments that appeared along the way – the light over the skyline, quiet streets at dusk, the wide stretch of coastline dissolving into the sea.

Cape Town is not only geographically on the edge – it’s a place full of transitions: from light to shadow, from city to nature, from moment to mood. My camera didn’t follow a guidebook, but the impulse to see – curious, open, and again and again simply in awe.

Cape Town has remained a place of longing for me. Maybe one day – on a second glance, a second time…
